시놉시스Synopsis
프랑스 요리법 그리고 이를 창의적으로 활용하는 천재가 있다. 이 천재성이 부엌이 아닌 들판이나 농장에서 먼저 발휘되었다면 어땠을까? 훌륭한 요리를 구성하는 각각의 재료들이 어떻게 나고 자라는지 우리는 제대로 알고 있는 걸까? 안시에 위치한 미슐랭 3스타 레스토랑의 셰프인 로랑 프티는 자신이 이끄는 팀의 재능을 전적으로 믿으며, 레스토랑에서 불과 몇 미터 떨어진 곳에 위치한 정원에서 영감을 받기도 한다. 이곳은 정원사 리오넬 페롱이 손수 가꾸는 레스토랑의 정원이자 식물들이 주는 진정한 호기심으로 가득 찬 보물창고이기도 하다.
French gastronomy, its creative genius. And what if this genius, before happening in the kitchen, took place in a field, a farm? Do we have any idea of what is accomplished for each of the products that make up the great dishes? If in his restaurant, Laurent Petit, three-starred Michelin chef in Annecy, can count on the talent of his brigade, he draws his inspiration a few meters away, in the garden of the restaurant run by the gardener Lionel Perron, a veritable cabinet of plant curiosities.

1996년 프랑스 푸아티에 태생. 아주 어린 나이에 비디오 제작에 대한 열정을 갖게 된 그는 완전히 다른 분야의 학업과 직업을 선택했음에도 불구하고 그 열정을 결코 멈출 수 없었다. 여가 시간을 활용해 아티스트 인터뷰, 뮤직비디오 등 다양한 프로그램을 제작하게 된다. 26세의 나이가 되자 그가 두 번째로 열정을 쏟은 요리에 대한 이야기를 전하고 싶은 욕구가 강해졌다. 다큐멘터리 단편 <오르투스: 셰프의 정원>은 그런 그의 열정으로 만들어진 작품이자 첫 번째 연출작이다.
Maël Henaff was born in 1996 in Poitiers, France, and became passionate about video production at a very young age. In spite of his studies and his profession in a completely different sector, this passion has never stopped and in his free time he produces different programs: interviews with artists, music videos, etc. At the age of 26, the desire to tell a story about his second passion, gastronomy, pushed him to direct his very first short documentary: Hortus.
