시놉시스Synopsis
비르힐리오 마르티네즈는 단순한 셰프를 넘어 예술가의 경지에 이르렀다. 페루 리마에 위치한 그의 센트럴 레스토랑은 지난 10년간 라틴 아메리카에서 최고이자 세계 1~2위로 손꼽히는 곳이다. 비르힐리오의 아내 피아 레온 역시 세계 최고의 여성 셰프로 인정받고 있다. 이러한 명성과는 별개로 비르힐리오는 끊임없이 영감을 찾으며 연구와 창작 작업에 몰두해있다. 그는 페루의 다양한 지역을 탐험하며, 그 지역 고유의 요리법에 ‘고도의 세상’이라는 혁명적인 개념을 더해 나간다. 고도 지역을 기반으로 한 그의 요리법은 오늘날 세상이 지역의 미식 문화를 바라보는 시각을 완전히 바꿔놓게 된다.
Virgilio Martinez is much more than a chef, he is an artist. Although his Central restaurant in Lima, Peru, is considered to be the best of the decade in Latin America and number 2 in the world, and his wife Pía León is considered to be the world's best female chef. His inspiration, research and creative work goes much further than these recognitions. Virgilio is an explorer of Peru's different regions, giving its origin to the revolutionary concept of the "World in Altitudes", based on the elevations of the earth that forever changed the way local gastronomy is seen in today's world.
감독Director
알프레드 올리베리 감독은 쇼비즈니스 업계에서 평생을 보낸 베테랑이다. 엔터테인먼트와 예술 사이에서 창작자, 프로듀서, 감독으로 활동해온 그는 미식 요리 영화 제작을 전문으로 하는 영화사 ‘하우스오브셰프’를 설립했다. 2018년 설립 이래로 <Tegui, a family Affair>(2018), <The Legend of Don Julio>(2019) 등을 만들며 음식 영화 전문 작가이자 감독으로서 많은 이야기를 만들어왔다. 그가 만든 장편 다큐멘터리 4편은 산세바스티안영화제와 칸영화제 마켓인 Marché du Film에서 프리미어 상영을 했다. 그는 영화 <Purity>(2020)로 말라가영화제 음식 영화 섹션에서 최우수작품상을 수상하며 처음으로 국제적인 인정을 받았다. <비르힐리오, 고도의 미식>(2022)은 그의 최신작이다.
After a life dedicated to show business, between entertainment and art, as a creator, producer and director, Alfred founded House of Chef, a production house specialized in films about gastronomy. Since 2018 he has been telling stories as an author and director in this format with his films such as <Tegui, a family Affair> (2018) and <The Legend of Don Julio> (2019). His four previous full feature documentary films has world premiered in San Sebastian (twice), Marché du Film in Cannes, and at the Malaga Festival where he won his first international award with <Purity> (2020) as best feature film in the Cinema Cocina section. <Virgilio> (2022) is his latest work.
